THE MISSION
Empowering Romanian youth to become Engaged European Leaders.
We intend to encourage open discussions among young people on topics of European relevance, fostering an environment of equity, tolerance, and the exchange of new ideas. We also wish to encourage cooperation at an educational level between Romania and other European countries.
To achieve this, we provide scholarships enabling young Romanians to participate in the annual European Forum Alpbach, facilitating encounters with outstanding personalities from across the world.

In a world where everyone else seems to be acting faster and more decisively, Europe faces fundamental questions: Is Europe currently on the road to victory? Can Europe still win on the decisive issues? If so, alone or with which partners? Does someone have to lose for Europe to win? What is Europe missing to be a born winner – and what do we already have? And what game is being played anyway?
WHO WE ARE
The Initiative Group Alpbach România (IGAR) was founded in 2013 by a group of students and young professionals with the aim of supporting Romanian youth through scholarships to attend the annual European Forum Alpbach (EFA) in Austria, held from mid-August to early September.
We are an apolitical, nongovernmental, non-profit, independent and humanitarian association, member of the international nongovernmental organization ‘Europäisches Forum Alpbach’ (EFA) with headquarters in Vienna, Austria.
Through this initiative, we seek to encourage dialogue among young people on topics of European relevance and to foster an open exchange of ideas.
